Laurie S. Zimmerman has been a resident of Florida for more then thirty-three years and has practiced law in Sarasota/Manatee County for over twenty years. Laurie graduated from Florida State University in 1986 with a B.S in political science and a minor in social work. In 1990, Laurie received her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law.

Laurie started off her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney where she tried hundreds of cases including serious felony cases. Laurie was then recruited by Allstate Insurance Company as in-house trial counsel, where she tried cases on behalf of Allstate and it’s insured for approximately six years. In 2000, Laurie became an associate with the firm of Rosen and Shapiro where she practiced in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death and nursing home negligence. Subsequently, she became a partner with the law firm of Mallard & Zimmerman where she practiced mainly in the areas of personal injury, insurance defense and mediation. In 2008, Laurie along with her husband Mark Zimmerman formed the firm of Zimmerman and Zimmerman which practices mainly in the areas of personal injury, mediation, criminal defense, domestic injunctions and education law.

Laurie is a Certified Circuit Court Mediator and a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. Only approximately five percent of the Florida Bar has achieved board certification. Laurie is Master Emeritus and is a past President of the Judge John M. Scheb American Inn of Court, an organization dedicated to the goals of promoting excellence in legal advocacy and high standards of professionalism and ethics. In order to achieve the status of zoloft, one must have a distinguished history of service to the bench, bar and Inn. Laurie is also an invited member of the American Board of Trial Attorneys (ABOTA). ABOTA is a national organization of experienced civil trial lawyers whose purpose includes preserving the jury system, improving practice and procedure in trial courts, promoting civility, ethical conduct and protecting the independence of our judiciary. Laurie is also an active member of the local Sarasota County Bar Association and has served as Co-Chair for the Civil Circuit Court Committee, the Judicial Evaluation Committee and served on the generic modafinil. She is a member of the Florida Justice Association. Laurie serves as a Hearing Officer for the Manatee County Housing Authority. She is admitted to the Florida Bar and the U.S District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Laurie has spearheaded a mock trial program at USF for the past decade. She has acted as a Judge for college and high school mock trial competitions. Laurie was co-chair of the Early Education Committee for the Jewish Community Center.
